The Gallery provides a fantastic range of monthly changing exhibitions in their year long calendar.
Often one or more members will showcase a deeper exploration of their interests in a series collection, and very often, Visiting Artists bring different skills and techniques with their body of work on display temporarily.

June Focus Room Exhibition
Ranging the Ranges
In June, at The Gallery, member Itta Somaia has captured the dramatic beauty of her new home in the Macedon Ranges in a vibrant new body of work. An avid hiker, she regularly sets out with her painting kit, stopping to record fleeting moments of colour and light, that define the local landscape.
Deeply influenced by the Impressionist movement through her family of artists, Itta developed a bold intuitive style beginning with acrylic under-painting before completing each piece in water-based oils. She favours palette knives to build rich a textured surface and incorporates oil sticks for the vivid colours and blazing sunsets around the Ranges.
This exhibition features both large and small works. All pieces celebrate the artists’ mission: to bring abundant colour and light into homes and working spaces. Itta invites you to experience the Macedon Ranges anew — seen through the eyes of an artist who walks its trails and paints with joy – in her exhibition which begins Tuesday 5 June and finishes Sunday 5 July. A pre-release catalogue will be available.
