POP UP gallery exhibitions
During our temporary closure, the members have a small collection of works on show at the Art on Piper gallery in Kyneton. Situated in trendy Piper St at #44 opposite the park, the Guest Room offers textiles, pottery, wood, glass, cards and paintings by artists who don’t have a double membership – six of our members are in both art collectives. So you can visit AOP any day except Tuesday, from 10 until 4, where you will find the usual displays by TGMM members, often with more variety of stock or ranges of new experiments. The exhibition runs through to mid September.
During the Woodend Winter Arts Festival annually in June, a POP UP display is held in the Woodend Neighbourhood House in Forest St.
All of the members are represented with displays of their various artworks with many of them in attendance, happy to explain their techniques and enjoying the catered opening.
Various demonstrations are given over the long weekend which is a chance for the visitors to learn new skills, and a themed childrens’ activity is offered for hands-on fun.
Art to Wear Parade
Each July, for the last fifteen years, members and invited makers have their creations modelled to a welcome audience.
A champagne afternoon tea is included, making the occasion a fabulous social outing for many attendees who come from close and far.
Jubilee Hall in Macedon comes alive with fabrics, textures, jewellery and music in this much anticipated showcase of wearable art at its best. Following the parade, the garments are on display back at The Gallery for a month.
