Dale was born in Sussex England in 1944 and served an apprenticeship as a joiner and cabinet maker.
Emigrating to Australia with his wife and eldest daughter in 1965, he worked as a carpenter, later running a building business for a number of years and retiring in 2009.
Upon retirement Dale decided to take up wood turning, with a specialty in mainly local native timbers from dead or fallen trees.
Seeing the colour and grain emerge whilst turning is most satisfying for Dale. A passion for wood and a desire for perfection are two of the forces that drive him.
