My ceramic work is influenced by a special interest in decoration, especially pattern and mark making
Simple functional forms are decorated with patterns and often animal imagery
including cats and dogs. These creatures have a special ability to work their
way into our lives. In recent years I have been enjoying using
decoration on wearable ceramics. I like these pieces to have a 'one off'
quality and to show some evidence of the hand of the maker. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art,
with major studies in ceramics. I am currently working from a home studio in
Sunbury, and enjoy mixing with like-minded potters at the Boilerhouse Community
Arts Centre Sunbury. I am a member of Macedon Ranges Potters,
Buttlejorrk and The Gallery at Mt Macedon. cathyg@ssc.net.au |
