As far back as Lorraine can remember she has always been creating. Her grandmother showed her how to crochet at seven and from then on, she was making something with her hands.
Throughout her art teacher career, Lorraine explored many different areas of visual expression including textiles, paint, clay, drawing media, printmaking and digital art forms.
For many years textile was her favourite medium but since retirement she has found that she has time to explore other media and so in the last few years has begun painting and printing.
Lorraine was introduced to a gel plate for printing and loves the unique, individual prints this technique can produce. Printing on many different surfaces, she uses the prints to make journal covers, jewellery, accessories and collaged painted pictures, works that are full of colour and texture.
