I have always felt drawn to express myself through art. After
a career as an art teacher, I continued to develop my oil and watercolour skills
and now I paint full time as my career of choice.
My
inspiration lies in the beauty and tragedy of my surroundings in the Macedon
Ranges. Local wildlife, scenery and flora provide my artistic fodder. Through my
support of animal rescue groups I have met rescuers and orphaned or injured
animals. Their stories concern me so greatly that raising awareness of the
fragility of the natural world has become the focus of my art. I try to
represent realism and emotion in my wildlife portraits, communicating the soul
in their eyes.
My paintings
increasingly find their way around Australia and overseas. I have online galleries
on my website, Facebook, Instagram, Gallery247 and Oz Art Finder and I welcome
commissions and inquiries.
